Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Restop: the iOS app, the website at restop.app and the API behind them, made by JC Technologies LLC. By using Restop you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Restop.

What Restop is

Restop shows bathrooms, water fountains and porta potties that other people and OpenStreetMap have put on the map, with their ratings, facts and door codes. We do not own, run or inspect any of these places. A place may be closed, moved, locked or gone; a code may have changed; a rating is one person’s opinion. Use your own judgement, respect the premises and the people who run them, and never force a door.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 to create an account. Browsing needs no account.
• One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; what happens under your account is on you.
• Your handle may not impersonate a person, business or brand.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings. What that removes is in the Privacy Policy.

What you post

You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to show it in Restop and in apps that embed Restop, and to share facts about places (not ratings, comments or codes) under the Open Database License as part of our open-data export. Post only what is true and yours to share, and nothing that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, private to someone else, or advertising.

Door codes are for places that give their code to the public or to customers. Do not post a code you were given in confidence, a code to a private space, or a code to a place that asks people not to share it. If you run a place and want its codes gone, use the form on the Support page (no account needed) or write to support@restop.app; the codes are hidden at once and a moderator reviews the request.

Moderation

We filter text, hide what people report, and have moderators who can remove posts, places and codes, merge duplicates, and suspend accounts that break these terms. Points earned by a removed post are taken back. You can block a contributor so you no longer see their posts. Decisions are ours; write to us if you think one is wrong.

No warranty, limited liability

Restop is provided as is. We do not promise that a place exists, is open, is clean, is safe or lets you in, that a code works, or that the app is available at any time. To the extent the law allows, JC Technologies LLC is not liable for any loss or injury arising from your use of Restop or of any place it shows, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Restop, which is nothing.

Changes

We may change these terms; the date at the top says when. Continuing to use Restop after a change means you accept it. Questions go to support@restop.app.
